Chelsea still want Donnarumma next summer

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Chelsea are still interested in trying to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma next summer.

After searching high and low for a replacement to bring in for Kepa Arizzabalaga, Frank Lampard finally settled on bringing Edouard Mendy to Stamford Bridge. Alas, it may not have been their first option, and this report indicates that they could still make a move to sign Donnarumma.

It’d definitely be a risky idea given the fact Mendy has only just signed, but Donnarumma’s abilities do speak for themselves.

Chelsea fans know that they need some defensive stability if they’re going to succeed this season, and while Donnarumma would be a great addition, they have to start getting behind Mendy. He’s a great keeper in his own right and Lampard has to understand that instead of looking to the transfer market, he now needs to focus on the task at hand with the squad he’s got.
