Italian media outlet Premium Sport claims Premier League champions Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Antonio Candreva with an €18 million bid.
The Serie A outfit however are thought to be demanding €25 million for the 30-year-old whose agent fuelled transfer speculation claiming that Candreva’s departure ‘cannot be ruled out’.
The player himself has, however, rebuffed talks about potential transfer claiming he is happy at Inter Milan, but the Blues continue their search for a versatile wide man who can fill up a winger/full-back role and challenge Victor Moses for a spot in the team next season and look dead set on Candreva.
The experienced utility man was one of the key performers for Inter Milan last season racking six goals and adding 10 assists in Serie A.
Antonio Candreva might not be one of the most fashionable choices for the Premier League giants, but Antonio Conte is well-aware of his qualities and versatility which could make him a depth option during Chelsea’s title defence.
