Chelsea have offered a trial to former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia, according to the Mail Online.
The Blues are currently without first choice shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, who is set to be out of action until January with a knee injury.
Asmir Begovic moved to Stamford Bridge from Stoke City in the summer, but has conceded ten goals in seven appearances so far while third choice Jamaal Blackman’s only senior appearances so far came in a League Cup tie whilst on loan at Middlesbrough last season.
Amelia is currently without a club, but has played for a whole host of sides in his native Italy’s top flight including Roma, Livorno, Parma and Milan, winning the Serie A title with the latter in 2011.
Internationally he has been capped nine times for his country, and was part of their victorious squad in the 2006 World Cup finals in Italy though he didn’t play.
