Scolari was named future Chelsea boss sometime yesterday, but it seems that the London outfit is not willing to wait for its boss before making moves on the transfer market. After all, who knows more about football than Mr. Abramovich?
This time, the player targeted is not Deco, or Eto’o or any other has-been. Rather they are looking to sign a player for the future. Luca Cigarini has been with Parma for the past three season and he has impressed, but now he looks certain to leave his current club after it has been relegated from Serie A, reports Football Italia.
Cigarini a midfielder of only 21 years of age who likes to control play. In other words, Chelsea is looking for another version of Frank Lampard. The youngster, however is not nearly a prolific a goalscorer as the English ‘star’ but he looks very promising for the future.
According to some people who have actually seen him play, he has a good shot and the ability to control the ball with both feet. All of this skill has attracted interest from a host of clubs which include Villareal and Juventus; so, in order to sign him, Chelsea are going to have to fight for him… or offer more money.
