Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk wants to join Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs. The well-known and well-respected reported has claimed on Twitter that Ukrainian Premier League club are considering the Gunners’ second bid.
Arsenal had their initial offer for Mudryk turned down by Shakhtar. The Premier League club’s second bid is just under €70 million. Shakhtar wants €100 million in transfer fees for the 21-year-old winger, and although the Gunners do not want to pay that much, there is optimism that a deal will go through.
Chelsea have also been linked with Mudryk, with The Sun reporting that the Blues will hold talks with Shakhtar in London this week over a potential deal.
