Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have confirmed that talented midfielder Julian Brandt will be leaving the club in the near future.
The 17-year-old has caught the eye of quite a few of Europe’s top clubs with his performances over the last year or so, and it is only a matter of time before leaves the Wolves for greener pastures.
It appears that Brandt will be leaving sooner rather than later, with Wolfsburg confirming he had rejected a new contract offer.
“Julian Brandt has turned down the offer to sign a new contract with VfL Wolfsburg,” a club spokesman told German newspaper Deutsche Presseagentur.
“As he is out of contract at the end of the campaign, Julian Brandt will therefore depart from VfL Wolfsburg.”
And while German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are thought to be interested, Chelsea appear to be leading the chase for the talented winger.
Julian Brandt has been in scintillating form for Wolfsburg Under-19 side, scoring 19 goals in 34 league appearances.
He was recently promoted to Germany Under-19 team and has already made three appearances in the European Championship qualifiers.
