Chelsea to bolster midfield with Jean-Michael Seri

Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea really aren’t in a great spell of form currently, with three consecutive 0-0 draws preceding their nervy penalty shootout win over Norwich in midweek. The Blues have also slipped down to fourth spot in the league table, and could lose out on a Champions League place to London rivals Tottenham if results don’t improve.

It is little surprise then that Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his squad in this January transfer window, and midfield is one of the key areas that need improvement. Jean-Michael Seri could be just the man for that job, according to the Guardian, as Chelsea are reportedly keen on the Nice star.

Seri has contributed a goal and three assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances this season, despite playing in a relatively deep midfield position. The box-to-box Ivorian has a tireless work rate and could be the perfect complement to N’Golo Kante in the middle of the park for Chelsea.
