According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are eager to discuss an extension to Thiago Silva’s current contract.
The 37-year-old is keen to spend one more year at the elite level in Europe before either heading away from the continent or retiring from the sport altogether. At this moment in time the Blues are also said to be invested in the idea of keeping him on the books but as we all know, a club like Chelsea could easily change their mind based on one or two poor performances.
Silva has enjoyed a successful stint at Stamford Bridge up to this point and when you consider that they’re one of the clear favourites in the race to capture the Premier League title, we can understand why he’d be invested in wanting to stay.
He’s playing at the highest possible level imaginable right now both in Europe and domestically, and that’s a fact.
