Chelsea to hold talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over Mykhaylo Mudryk

Chelsea are trying to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of London and Premier League rivals Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has that the winger’s club, Shakhtar Donetsk, will hold talks with the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners in London this week.

Arsenal are keen on signing Mudryk from Shakhtar in the January transfer window and have offered the Ukrainian Premier League club £62 million. However, they want more. The winger already has a personal agreement withe the Gunners over a five-year contract worth £120,000 per week and is willing to move the Emirates Stadium in the middle of the season.

Shakhtar are looking for £60 million up front for Mudryk and another £20 million in add-ons. Shakhtar sporting director, Darijo Srna, will travel to London this week for talks with Chelsea over a transfer of the 21-year-old.
