The story of the summer so far has been that of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese winger has been widely tipped to join Real Madrid and become the most expensive player in the history of football. However Manchester United refuse to sell their prized asset.
Now Real Madrid could find themselves on the wrong end of a record-braking transfer deal, reports the Guardian. Robinho has been targeted by Chelsea this summer, and it is believed that any transfer involving the tricky Brazilian would be worth about £48 million which is just over the £47 million transfer fee paid by Real Madrid for Zinedine Zidane.
However reports in the media are contradictory. While The Guardian reports that a deal could take place, The Times reports that Robinho is only thinking about Real Madird and Setanta Sports understands that a deal could only take place if Cristiano Ronaldo does make his move to Real Madrid.
