Chelsea to raid Real Madrid for teenage striker

Chelsea have shown interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to The Mirror.

The Blues’ scouts have recognized the potential of the 18-year-old striker and they believe he would be a great addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Morata has already featured for Real Madrid first team this term, while he scored 12 goals for Real Madrid B.

The youngster is under contract at Real until June 2013 and los Blancos are desperate to hold onto him following his impressive performances this season.

However, Chelsea scouts believe that he may have a £10-million release clause inserted in his contract and could instruct the club management to bid for the Real hotshot.

Nonetheless, it looks highly unlikely that the player will accept a proposal from Chelsea after receiving a clear indication that he will be given a chance to impress at Santiago Bernabeu.

Why would Chelsea spend another 10m on an unknown striker when they have Danny Sturridge? DS has more than proved himself this season on loan at Bolton and deserves to get his chance when he heads back to Stamford Bridge.
