The Metro understands that Chelsea have already decided against pursuing a permanent deal for Radamel Falcao.
The Colombia international moved to Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis in the summer, but has scored just once in nine appearances in all competitions.
He spent last season on loan at Manchester United, but managed just four goals in twenty-six appearances for Louis van Gaal’s side.
Prior to his move to England, Falcao had spells in Argentina, Portugal, Spain and France and was much more consistent in each, scoring regularly for River Plate, Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco.
Internationally, he has been capped sixty-one times for his country, scoring twenty-five times, though he missed the 2014 World Cup through injury.
Chelsea suffered a shock defeat at home to Southampton in Saturday’s late kick-off in the Premier League to leave them ten points behind leaders Manchester City, and are now priced at 20/1 to retain the title.
