Premier League giants Chelsea should count themselves lucky to have Willian, a hugely talented Brazilian winger who regularly starts for one of the best national teams in world football. However, like a sexually frustrated man in the midst of a mid life crisis, Chelsea want to trade Willian in for a younger model, specifically the alluring 25-year old PSG winger Lucas Moura.
According to the Metro Antonio Conte is willing to put his Brazilian up for sale in January in order to secure Lucas’ services, perhaps in the hopes that a new face will catapult Chelsea up the league table.
Lucas has made five substitute appearances for the Parisian super club so far this season, and they are sitting pretty at the top of Ligue 1, probably solely down to his contributions. Willian meanwhile has made 11 appearances in Chelsea’s Premier League campaign and the Blues are fourth in the table, so you definitely can see the blind logic behind the move.
That logic becomes even more sound when you consider the fact that Lucas has a goal and an assist to his name in the league this season, while Willian has just an assist in over double the appearances. Chelsea obviously know what they’re doing, so who am I to question them?
