Chelsea to sign Juan Cuadrado; QPR eyeing Bakary Sako

hot-transfer-newsChelsea to sign Juan Cuadrado

Premier League leaders Chelsea are on the verge of recruiting Colombian winger Juan Guillerme Cuadrado from Fiorentina, BBC Sport can reveal.

The 26-year-old has agreed a long-term deal with the Blues, while Fiorentina seem ready to accept the latest proposal from Stamford Bridge.

The cost of the transfer is £23.3 million and it could rise up to £26.8 million, which is the exact amount of the player’s current release clause.

As part of the deal, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is expected to join Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season, although he has yet to accept a January move to Italian Serie A.

Juan Cuadrado has spent last two and a half years at Artemio Franchi, making 85 Serie A appearances and scoring no less than 20 goals.

His imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge means that Andre Schurrle will probably be allowed to move to Wolfsburg on a permanent deal.

QPR eyeing Bakary Sako

French media outlet L’Equipe has learned that Premier League strugglers Queens Park Rangers are on the verge of signing Malian winger Bakary Sako.

The highly rated footballer has been linked with quite a few Premier League sides considering that his contract at Molineux expires at the end of the season.

And the latest reports suggest that QPR have won the race for Sako’s signature, although it remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old will be joining in January or next summer.

The Mali international signed for Wolves in the summer of 2012 following several impressive seasons at Saint Etienne, and he quickly proved his worth in England.

Sako has managed 30 goals and 28 assists in 106 league outings, playing for the club in the Championship and League One.

His suitors QPR are heavily involved in the Premier League survival fight and they are 11/10 not to get relegated.

Sporting lead chase for Bruno Uvini

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Sporting Lisbon are closing in on Napoli defender Bruno Uvini.

The Lions have already recruited central defender Ewerton from Anzhi as a replacement for Mauricio, but they could sign another stopper by the time the January window closes.

According to A Bola, Sporting officials hope to secure the signature of Napoli defender Bruno Uvini on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has returned to Stadio San Paolo from a successful loan spell at Santos, but it appears he won’t be staying in Naples for much longer.

Since joining the club from Sao Paulo, the Brazilian has only made one Serie A appearance for the Azzurri, and it would appear he has no future at Napoli.

The former captain of the Brazil Under-20 side is hoping to get his career back on track and a move to Estadio Jose Alvalade could be beneficial for him.
