Chelsea are set to sign Robert Sanchez from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton over a deal for Sanchez.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will pay the Seagulls £25 million in transfer fees for Sanchez. The goalkeeper will undergo a medical with Chelsea and then put pen to paper on a contract. The Blues are signing Sanchez as a replacement for Edouard Mendy, who moved to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer.
Chelsea have been looking at Sanchez for a while now. Kepa is now the number one goalkeeper at the Blues, and Sanchez will be expected to compete with him for a place in the starting lineup. Sanchez has made 87 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has kept 27 clean sheets in those games.
