The Daily Mail is reporting that Chelsea could be set to pursue the signature of Everton midfielder Marouane Fellani.
It is being suggested that those close to the player would like to see him playing for a more high-profile club and Champions League winners certainly fit the bill.
Fellani has been a fantastic player for Everton since joining in 2008 and manager David Moyes will definitely want to keep hold of him, but a big offer could be tempting.
One thing for sure is that Everton would like to make some money on the £15m they spent to secure the midfielder’s signature and this will test Chelsea’s desire.
However, with The Daily Mirror reporting that Fellani is Chelsea’s No.1 target in terms of a holding midfielder, the Blues owner Roman Abramovich could be ready to spend the cash.
A lot could depend on what the player is thinking. Will he be loyal to Everton or will his head be turned by a move to the Champions of Europe?
With Eden Hazard already coming in at Stamford Bridge and Hulk rumoured to be another target, Chelsea certainly mean business this summer.
This is despite it not being 100% certain who will be their manager, although reports today suggest that Roberto Di Matteo could get the job full-time.
