Chelsea want Barella

According to Sky Sports sources, Premier League side Chelsea are interested in signing Nicolo Barella from Cagliari. The 21 year old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the club for quite some time now, and he’s believed to be viewed as a possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas who seems to be on his way to Monaco.

Barella has been a revelation for Cagliari in the last few years, quickly establishing himself as one of the most intriguing young players in Italian football. Juventus were one of the clubs said to be interested in him, but given Maurizio Sarri’s connections in Italy, there could be a chance that this deal gets the green light.

Chelsea are believed to be preparing for a very busy January transfer window, with both incomings and outgoings predicted over the course of the next few weeks. That’ll start, of course, with the impending departure of Fabregas.
