Premier League giants Chelsea have joined the queue for the Serbian striker Luka Jovic.
Eintracht Frankfurt forward has been hitting the headlines this season with his imperial form with the Bundesliga outfit and it appears some of Europe’s biggest clubs have already took notice of his emergence.
Long predicted to make it to the very top of the game by Red Star general director Zvezdan Terzic, the Serbian Falcao as they call him back in his homeland has already alarmed the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, even though the Catalans denied any interest in the 21-year-old.
Germany’s Bild is now reporting that Chelsea have joined the list, making Luka Jovic their No.1 transfer priority.
The Blues could easily be left without a single classic striker next summer knowing that Olivier Giroud is running out of contract and that Gonzalo Higuain is a loaned player.
This is exactly why Chelsea officials consider Luka Jovic as the perfect long-term solution upfront.
Luka Jovic is expected to command a transfer fee close to €40 or €50 million but Eintracht Frankfurt will need to sort out his contract situation first.
They are widely expected to activate his €10 million buyout clause from Benfica, knowing that the Serbian is currently in his second year of a two-season loan from the Portuguese powerhouse.
