Luka Modric is set to ignore interest from Chelsea in him and complete his move to Real Madrid during the week, that’s according to Mirror Football.
This has been one of the stories that has dominated the summer transfer window but over recent weeks it has only been Real linked with the 26-year-old.
However, Chelsea have reportedly declared their desire to sign the Croatian after failing to secure his services last summer.
It comes after Chelsea duo Daniel Sturridge and Raul Meireles have both been suggested targets for Tottenham – meaning the Blues were weighing up the possibility of a swap deal.
But, Modric only has one club in his sights and that is the La Liga Champions. He did not travel to Newcastle to play in Spurs’ opening fixture in the English Premier League.
This made it even more likely that he was on his way out of White Hart Lane and now it just needs the London club and Real to agree a fee.
With not long left in the transfer window, Spurs will want a deal done soon so they can try and finalise the players that they have nearly completed deals for – Emmanuel Adebayor and Leonardo Damiao.
