Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Chelsea are planning to open talks with Mason Mount over a new contract. Mount’s current contract at the defending European champions runs until the summer of 2024, and the Premier League club are keen on tying him down to a new long-term deal.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has claimed that although Chelsea have not made direct contact with Mount over a new deal, they are planning to start proceedings in the coming months.

Mount has been superb for Chelsea over the years and has established himself as a key figure in manager Thomas Tuchel’s team. The 23-year-old England international midfielder has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 16 Premier League starts and has made four appearances in the Champions League for Chelsea so far this season.
