Chelsea are interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus in the summer of 2022, according to CalcioMercato. It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that De Ligt is at the top of Chelsea’s list of defensive targets.
De Ligt has been on the books of Juventus since 2019 when he joined from Ajax. The Netherlands international central defender has scored one goal in four Serie A appearances so far this season, and made 25 starts in the league and four substitute appearances in the Champions League last season.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand. Thomas Tuchel’s side won the Champions League last season and could go on to clinch the Premier League title this season.
