Chelsea are interested in signing Liam Delap from Premier League rivals Ipswich Town in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. The report has claimed that Ipswich hope that they will be able to keep hold of Delap for the rest of the season and will demand a strong fee with a sell-on clause.
Delap has been on the books of Ipswich since the summer of 2024 when he joined from Manchester City. The Tractor Boys paid £20 million in transfer fees for the 21-year-old forward. The England Under-21 international has scored six goals and given one assist in 12 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Citizens so far this season.
Chelsea, who will not sell Benoit Badiashile in the January transfer window, are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table in head coach Enzo Maresca’s first season in charge of the Blues. As for Ipswich, the Tractor Boys’ main objective in this campaign is to avoid the drop back to the Championship.
