Saint Etienne defender Kurt Zouma is closing in on a move to Premier League giants Chelsea, L’Equipe has learned.
Despite interest from Inter Milan and Monaco, the youngster has decided to accept an offer from the Blues, having been convinced by none other than Jose Mourinho.
And with the two clubs very close to reaching an agreement over the transfer fee thought to be around €15 million, it is clear that Zouma will continue his career at Stamford Bridge.
Even though the deal is set to be completed in the coming days, the 19-year-old will probably be joining Chelsea in the summer.
Having served his ten-match ban for breaking an opponent’s leg, Zouma was expected to face Bordeaux last weekend, but he was omitted from the squad, which is enough to suggest he is negotiating a move away from the club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea suffered a blow to their title ambitions as they could only muster a goalless draw with West Ham, and they are now 3/1 for the Premiership title.
