Chelsea are on the verge of signing Sao Paulo youngster Lucas Piazon, according to Daily Mail.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, dubbed ‘new Kaka,’ has attracted a lot of attention from big European clubs despite having yet to play a senior game for Sao Paulo.
Lucas Piazon, who is currently playing for Brazil in the Under-17 South American Championship, is tracked by Juventus and Liverpool, but the latest reports suggest he is close to making a switch to Chelsea.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Sao Paulo thought to be worth around £8 million, with the 17-year-old expected to arrive to Stamford Bridge for medical tests once the tournament in Ecuador ends later this month.
The player will sign a long-term deal with Chelsea subject to passing a medical and he will be officially unveiled on his 18th birthday next January.
Sao Paulo are expected to use the transfer fee to help fund for Luis Fabiano’s arrival from Sevilla.
