According to multiple reports, Chelsea have taken a strong stance regarding the future of Benoit Badiashile, following reports that they wouldn’t be opposed to letting him go in the upcoming January transfer window. The Blues have made it perfectly clear that the defender is not for sale, being a part of their long-term project, and there is just under six years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Badiashile arrived to Chelsea from AS Monaco last year, and having had a decent first season in the Premier League, he has only played 37 minutes and is yet to start in the English top flight this term, being firmly behind Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana in the pecking order under manager Enzo Maresca. He has, however, been an ever-present in the Carabao Cup and the Europa Conference League, playing every minute of every game so far.
But it seems Maresca values Badiashile not only for the depth he adds to the squad, but also for the competition he provides for Colwill and Fofana.
