Chelsea’s Omeruo set for Leganes

According to Marca, Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is on the verge of joining Leganes on loan. The 24-year-old has had interest shown in him by a series of La Liga clubs over the course of the last few months, but it seems as if he’s finally landed on an end destination.

Omeruo is one of the many Chelsea players who has spent the last few years being shipped out on loan, with no real indication that he’ll be given a chance in the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge. After loan spells with ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough, he’s spent the last three seasons in Turkish football, where he’s been able to slowly build up his reputation as a tall, strong and courageous centre-back.

Leganes will have the option to sign Omeruo on a permanent deal at the end of the season, which would bring an end to his six-year stay at Chelsea.
