Chicago Fire are set to complete a deal for Deportivo Alaves winger Aleksandar Katai, according to the Serbian media.
The 26-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Estadio de Mendizorroza after making just three substitute appearances in La Liga this term, but he failed to find new employers during the January window.
Nevertheless, latest reports suggest that the winger will be moving clubs this winter after all having agreed to join Chicago Fire.
Katai will join on a short-term loan deal, whereas the MLS side will have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old had shown some promise during his debut La Liga campaign, having produced 3 goals and as many assists in just 8 starts.
