Chicago Fire are really getting ready for a big season ahead. After the change of ownership, rebranding and relocation to downtown Chicago, the Fire are now signing players almost on a daily basis. The team led by former Basel coach Raphael Wicky was first improved by a signature from Argentina and then a day later with the deal from Serbia.
Fire first confirmed the signing of Ignacio Aliseda from Superliga Argentina side Defensa y Justicia. Aliseda is 19 years old and will be joining Chicago as a Young Designated Player. His contract will be running for three years, until the end of 2023.
The other signing comes from Serbia, as Chicago confirmed they signed Luka Stojanovic from FK Cukaricki. Stojanovic is an attacking midfielder who scored 12 goals already this season and Fire FC have paid around 500k euros to get him to the States. The 26-year-old signed a deal until the end of 2022, with the option for another year.
