Giorgio Chiellini has talked up Italy’s chances of victory in the Euro 2012 final on Sunday, claiming that Spain are not invincible.
The Azzurri will face the reigning European and world champions in the tournament decider at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev after beating Germany in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Chiellini’s side are considered the underdogs going into the clash, but the defender insists they will not be undertaking a revenge mission against La Roja, but rather the realisation of a dream.
“They are also human and we can beat them,” Chiellini said.
“Tomorrow we will not go onto the pitch to take revenge against an opponent (referring to the Euro 2008 quarter-final loss), but to wrap up our dream.”
The defender also brushed aside any concerns of exhaustion, saying: “We will have energy for the final. We can recover from any fatigue.”
