(GSM) – After the dramatic elimination form the Europa League by Fulham on Thursday there’s also some good news for Juventus: defensive ace Giorgio Chiellini is set to return to the squad.
Chiellini hopes to return for Juve on Sunday when they visit Sampdoria. The Italy international has been out of action since he picked up a thigh problem in the 2-1 win at Fiorentina back on March 6.
“I hope to be back for the difficult away game in Genoa on Sunday evening,” he said ahead of the trip to Sampdoria.
Chiellini wasn’t part of the squad that experienced a disastrous night on Thursday.
Without him and the suspended Nicola Legrottaglie, Juventus shipped four goals and saw both central defenders – Fabio Cannavaro and Jonathan Zebina – sent off.
