Universidad de Chile striker Angelo Henriquez is set to sign for Manchester United, Chilean newspaper La Tercera has revealed.
The Chile Under-20 international has traveled to Manchester to undergo a medical at Old Trafford, with the transfer expected to be made official in the coming days.
Back in 2009 Manchester United have agreed to pay €4 million for the highly rated attacker, with the agreement becoming enforceable in June 2014.
However, according to La Tercera, the Red Devils decided to take the player to Old Trafford two years ahead of schedule.
The club scouts were largely impressed with the player’s showings last season and have instructed Sir Alex Ferguson to make a move for Henriquez as soon as possible.
One of the hottest prospects in South America has been in scintillating form last term, scoring 11 goals in 17 league appearances for Universidad de Chile.
