Chinese Super League side Guizhou Renhe have revealed they are interested in signing English internationals Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.
The Chinese Super League clubs are doing their best to attract high-profile players from Europe and Nicolas Anelka was the first world-class player to join the attractive championship.
Didier Drogba was also linked with a switch to China, and now Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand are set to be offered bumper deals to leave their current clubs.
“I want the best team in China and we are prepared to invest a lot of money to bring Ferdinand and Lampard to us,” Guizhou president Wang Guolin was quoted as saying in The Sun.
“Many people here watch the Premier League and know how good the two players are.”
The Sun believes Guizhou are prepared to offer the Premier League star duo around £250,000 per week in order to make them leave England in the summer.
Rio Ferdinand’s agent believes that Chinese clubs have what it takes to fulfill their huge ambitions.
“When the Chinese want to achieve something they do it,” Pini Zahavi said.
“Football has become a big business for them now and they want to bring in the best players and managers.”
Both Ferdinand and Lampard are in the closing stages of their careers and they could seriously consider offers from China.
