Guangzhou increased their lead at the top of the Chinese Super League to seven points on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Hangzhou Lucheng.

Brazilian striker Cleo gave Guangzhou the lead six minutes before half-time, and goals after the break from Gao Lin and Cleo’s compatriot Muriqui made sure of the points.

Although Bali Maimaitiyili pulled one back for the hosts on 90 minutes, it was too late for the home side.

Beijing Guoan moved a point clear of Liaoning Hongyun in second with a 1-1 draw away from home against Shaanxi Chanba.

China striker Qu Bo opened the scoring for the hosts after 27 minutes, but midfielder Xu Liang equalised just before half-time and that was where the score stayed.

Liaoning Hongyun are third after their 0-0 draw with Changchun Yatai, and Shanghai Shenhua could not improve on their fourth place after going down 1-0 to struggling Nanchang Bayi.

In other results, Henan Jiye were 2-0 winners away from home over Chengdu Blades, Shandong Luneng defeated Shenzhen Ruby 2-0 and Tianjin Teda played out a goalless draw at home against Qingdao Jonoon.
