Shenzhen Ruby have ended their winless start to the Chinese Super League season with a 2-1 victory over Nanchang Bayi on Sunday.

A 72nd-minute winner from striker Huang Fengtao helped Philippe Troussier’s team climb out of the relegation zone with their first win in seven games.

Li Yang had given the winless hosts a 14th-minute lead, only to concede an equaliser at the worst time, two minutes before the interval.

Uruguayan attacker Diego Vera found the net for his second-last placed side, sending them into the break on level terms, only for Huang to find a crucial winner.

Elsewhere, Beijing Guoan remained second after playing out a 0-0 draw with fourth-placed Liaoning Hongyun.

In a battle between two mid-table sides, the 10th-placed Chengdu Blades saw out a scoreless draw with the eighth-placed Qingdao Jonoon.
