(GSM) – Cristian Chivu expects to be back in the Internazionale squad next month. The Romanian defender sustained a skull fracture during the Serie A match against Chievo, last month.
The former Roma defender was involved in a sickening clash of heads with Chievo captain Sergio Pellissier and remained at the sidelines since then.
The injury has left a big scar on his head. Chivu has had his first individual training sessions since the horrific incident.
“Right in time to win the Serie A and the Champions League with Inter,” the Romania international told the Italian press. “I consider this a new start. I always felt I would recover and be alright.”
Chivu was taken to the hospital immediately after the collision. There, the doctors diagnosed a skull fracture and decided to operate the 29-year-old defender right away.
Chivu could come back to play in the end of March.
