Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen has joined FC Copenhagen on a free transfer, the Danish side announced on their official website.
The 34-year-old had been a free agent since leaving Ajax this summer and he even pondered ending his professional career.
However, he ultimately decided to accept an offer from former club FC Copenhagen and was presented to the press earlier today.
The veteran midfielder has vowed to help his new teammates both on and off the pitch, with his huge experience likely to prove a major asset.
Poulsen had spent two years at FC Copenhagen between 2000 and 2002 having joined from his first club Holbaek, scoring 10 goals in 45 appearances before earning a lucrative move to Schalke.
The midfielder, who has been capped by Denmark 92 times, then went on to represent Sevilla, Juventus, Liverpool, Evian and Ajax, winning two league titles, Europa League trophy and numerous domestic cups in the process.
