Chuba Akpom leaves Arsenal

Chuba Akpom has officially left Arsenal Football Club, this time on a permanent basis. The 22-year-old has been loaned out to several different clubs over the years and hasn’t really been able to make the desired impact, but now, he’ll get a chance at starting over – with PAOK in Greece.

The Englishman was initially tipped to be the next big thing for Arsenal up front, but unfortunately, that hasn’t quite played out. It reiterates the point that no matter how good a youngster may seem when playing in a youth-specific setup, you can never predict how things are going to play out when they make the jump up to the first team squad.

Akpom would’ve continued to struggle to get any kind of game time with the Gunners, especially given that their two main forwards, Aubameyang and Lacazette, pose one of the biggest threats in the Premier League when it comes to ‘dynamic duos’ if you will.
