Italy international forward Ciro Immobile has moved to confirm that he is about to join Lazio from Sevilla.
The highly rated footballer arrives at Stadio Olimpico on a €2 million loan deal, while an €8 million obligatory buy-out clause is inserted in the transfer as well.
Immobile has been signed as a replacement for veteran striker Miroslav Klose, who decided to leave when his contract expired in June.
The Italy international is currently undergoing a medical in Rome and he confessed that a move to Lazio was on the horizon.
“Everything went well, all that is missing is the signature,” Immobile told reporters. “I chose Lazio for their history and for the city. The squad is competitive.”
Immobile will be happy to leave Sevilla after his spell with los Rojiblancos did not go according to plan, with the striker making mere 8 league appearances for the La Liga side.
However, he managed to reignite his career thanks to a successful loan spell at Torino and now finally gets a chance to prove his worth at a top Italian club, albeit one that have had plenty of problems of late.
