Cissokho set for Valencia return

Liverpool have rejected the chance to make Aly Cissokho’s deal permanent, according to ESPN.

The left-back moved to Merseyside on loan from Valencia last August, but has failed to make a real impression in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

He has made seventeen appearances in all competitions for the Reds, but has fallen behind England U21 international Jon Flanagan in the pecking order, while Jose Enrique is still to return having missed most of the season with a knee injury.

The Reds fell seven points behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title at the weekend, as they didn’t play while Jose Mourinho’s men thumped Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.

They will hope to reignite their challenge with victory over Manchester United when the fierce rivals face off at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, where Liverpool can be backed at a generous price of 15/8 to take all three points.
