Manchester City will meet either Crystal Palace or Stoke while holders Chelsea face a trip to either Southend or Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round.

Roberto Mancini’s side avoided an upset in the third round as they beat Watford 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium, with Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry among the scorers, while Chelsea smashed Southampton 5-1 as Demba Ba – on his Blues debut – netted twice to help his side come from behind to claim victory.

Current Premier League leaders Manchester United,

who, courtesy of a late Robin van Persie strike, rescued a draw against West Ham on Saturday, will take on Fulham or Blackpool, should they get the better of the Hammers in the third-round replay at Old Trafford on January 16.

The winner of the replay between Swansea and Arsenal, who played out a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday, will head to the Amex stadium to take on Gus Poyet’s Brighton, who comfortably defeated a below-par Newcastle in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Andre Villas-Boas’ Tottenham, who defeated Coventry at White Hart Lane on Saturday with Clint Dempsey grabbing two goals in the 3-0 win, face a tricky trip to either Birmingham or Leeds while struggling Aston Villa take on Millwall.

Everton, who visit Cheltenham Town on Monday, will face either Bolton or Sunderland if they come out victorious against the League Two side.

Conference outfit Macclesfield Town have been rewarded for their heroics in beating Championship table-toppers Cardiff City with a potential home tie against Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic, should Roberto Martinez’s men see off Bournemouth in their third-round replay on January 13.
