Talk Sport is today reporting that Manchester City could be handed a boost in the transfer market next summer as Fiorentina said they will assess the situation of their star striker Stevan Jovetic in May.
Jovetic has been on City’s radar for a while now and some reports suggest that they were close to bringing him to the English Premier League last summer, but a deal never materialised.
It is though the Serie A club will not listen to any offers for Jovetic in January as they are not prepared to lose him in the middle of the season.
However, at the end of the campaign they could be willing to cash-in on the Montenegro international and Roberto Mancini might be ready to make a move.
At 23-years-old, he certainly has a lot of potential and has netted six times in the Italian top flight already this term, so is in good form right now.
Juventus are also said to be interested, but Fiorentina are sure to do all they can to make sure he doesn’t go to a domestic rival.
City may want a striker in the New Year though, so Jovetic could become available a few months too late.
