Manchester City have been linked with a shock move for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard after Manuel Pellegrini said that he could play at the top for another two years, according to the Mail Online.
The former England skipper last week said that he would rather play his football elsewhere than retire, though Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has said that the midfielder remains part of his plans.
Gerrard has spent his entire career so far with Liverpool, racking up six hundred and seventy-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring one hundred-and seventy-six goals.
He has won a host of trophies in that time, with his finest hour coming in the 2005 Champions League final where his man of the match performance inspired his side to a famous penalty shout-out victory over AC Milan in Istanbul.
Liverpool travel to Real Madrid tomorrow evening, and are generously priced at 12/1 to take all three points.
