The Daily Mirror is reporting that Manchester City could make a shock move for Luis Suarez in the January transfer window.
Despite the Uruguayan signing a new four-year-deal at Anfield back in August, City are still keen to try and land Liverpool’s number seven for a fee believed to be around £40 million.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has come out and said that Suarez is not for sale, but the Citizens could make an offer that the clubs hierarchy cannot turn down.
It would certainly be a statement of intent from the English Premier League champions and show that they have big plans for the future. As mentioned though, Liverpool will do all they can to keep hold of the man that has scored eight goals in the top flight and is in superb form.
Suarez himself may be tempted by the move though, as it is likely to bring Champions League football to his career and he would be challenging for a title.
Should the deal go through in January, then it is thought Mancini will let Mario Balotelli move on, with both Milan clubs currently keeping tabs on him.
This story is sure to have plenty of twists and turns between now and the New Year, so keep an eye on how it develops.
