Mahrez set for Al-Ahli switch
Riyad Mahrez is reportedly on the verge of leaving Manchester City for Al-Ahli. An offer of £30 million for the services of the 32-year-old winger has been made after he agreed personal terms with the Saudi club, and the Premier League champions are expected to accept it. The medical preceding the move is believed to be already scheduled.
Though he hasn’t exactly been a regular starter lately at City, Mahrez was still an important part of the squad and manager Pep Guardiola will surely want someone to replace him before the season starts.
Newcastle join Chelsea and Spurs in David race
Newcastle have reportedly entered the race involving Premier League clubs seeking to obtain the services of Jonathan David from LOSC Lille.
The 23-year-old Canadian striker has been attracting a lot of interest since joining the Ligue 1 side in 202o. He was linked in the past with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool, and of course, Paris Saint-Germain, but now it seems that Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen to have him play in the Premier League.
If the Magpies’ interest in David is genuine, it would be interesting to see how exactly they would fit him in with the likes of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson in their ranks. Spurs, on the other hand, might look to replace Harry Kane if the England captain moves to Bayern, and Chelsea’s search for a striker has been well documented lately.
McTominay also on Newcastle list
Having signed Sandro Tonali from AC Milan, Newcastle are believed to be looking to add another dynamic midfielder to their ranks, and to that end, they’re reportedly maintain interest in Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
The 20-time English champions are apparently prepared to sell the 26-year-old Scotland international and they want £25 million for his services. It’s an amount that shouldn’t be too expensive for the Magpies, but they reportedly face competition from West Ham who are still working on replacing Declan Rice.
Spurs enquire about Andrea Cambiaso
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made enquiries about the availability of Andrea Cambiaso, the Juventus left-back who spent last season playing for Bologna on loan from the Bianconeri.
Juventus apparently value Cambiaso at €25 million, but they would prefer to keep hold of the 23-year-old, seeing him as a player who could become important in their team over the next couple of seasons.
Inter set to sign Cuadrado
Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of completing the signing of Juan Cuadrado, who is now a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired at the end of last season. There is a verbal agreement in place between the Nerazzurri and the representatives of the 35-year-old Colombia international.
Though originally a winger, Cuadrado spent most of his time at Juventus playing as a right wing-back in a 3-5-2 system, something that would appeal to Inter boss Simone Inzaghi who deployed his team in the same shape last season.
