Manchester City are readying bid for Barca full-back Dani Alves as the Brazilian is no closer to agreeing a new deal at Camp Nou.
Roberto Mancini sent scouts to watch the Brazilian play for Barca in El Clasico and they left Camp Nou impressed by Alves’ performance.
With Alves still unable to reach an agreement with Barcelona regarding the new contract, City are prepared to test Barca’s resolve with a bid of £35 million.
The Brazilian defender would like to stay at Camp Nou but he still wants a significant pay rise in order to sign a contract extension, and that is something Barcelona officials are not prepared to offer him.
Considering the breakdown in contract talks, City’s January bid for Alves could come to fruition as Barca cannot risk losing the player for free, having paid £27 million for his services.
