City to offload Mangala in the summer

Despite Premier League giants Manchester City’s recent defensive injury crisis, Eliaquim Mangala remains a forgotten man under manager Pep Guardiola. With the Frenchman struggling for any game time at all, it is little surprise that the Citizens are looking to offload him at the end of the season, according to the Guardian.

Mangala no doubt retains hope of forcing his way into the France squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but that eventuality seems unlikely if he remains in Manchester. The situation leads many to believe that the player will in fact depart as early as January, especially if preferred central defender John Stones returns from injury by then.

The centre half clearly has a lot of talent, which he flaunted at Porto for three seasons to earn himself a move to the Premier League. With that in mind it seems likely that Mangala will attract a lot of interest from various clubs around Europe, and the right move could help reignite the 26-year old’s career.
