Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a deal to sign Leon Clarke from League One rivals Coventry City, according to Sky Sports.
The 28 year old, who began his professional career at Molineux, has played for no less than fifteen league clubs over the past ten years though the majority of those have been loan spells.
He has scored fifteen league goals so far this season to help the Sky Blues overturn their ten-point deduction handed to them for going into liquidation, giving Steven Pressley’s men an outside chance of making the play-offs.
In three hindered and twelve career appearances in total, he has scored ninety-four times with his most prolific spells coming in at loan with Scunthorpe United in 2012, and at Coventry.
Should Clarke secure a return to Wolves, it could pave the way for Leigh Griffiths to join Celtic.
Kenny Jackett’s side beat Oldham Athletic 3-0 last night to keep pace with leaders Brentford and second place Leyton Orient, who beat Bristol City and Coventry respectively.
