Jordy Clasie’s agent says stories linking his client with a move away from Feyenoord have no substance.
Wessel Weezenberg said the midfielder had no reason to leave Rotterdam and claimed he enjoyed running out in front of Feyenoord’s fans.
But Clasie has been reportedly linked with a move to both English Premier League and Serie A clubs, who see the defensive midfielder as a good prospect having impressed for both club and country recently.
“I still think it is rumours. Jordy is 21 years old, he plays at a club with great fans and plays every week in an impressive stadium,” Weezenberg said.
“He is now developing rapidly. He plays every week and is now in the Dutch national team. There is really no reason to leave.
“The club will not want to let him go. He is one of the most popular players of Feyenoord, a departure this winter? I think not.”
The former Excelsior man has two international caps to his name and was named as a stand-by for Euro 2012 by former Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk.
