Claude-Maurice heading to Germany?

“Now I feel like it’s time to leave, to join a club that is playing at a higher level.

“I want to join Monchengladbach. It is a club that relies on young people, there is a good structure, the team will play in the Europa League. This project pleases me and suits me.”

Those are the words of Lorient winger Alexis Claude-Maurice, who has stated that he is interested in joining Borussia Monchengladbach. The French youth international has stated that he isn’t all too interested in making the switch to the Premier League, which comes in the wake of news that both West Ham United and Arsenal are interested in acquiring his services. Claude-Maurice has only recently burst onto the scene with Lorient down in Ligue 2, after scoring an impressive 14 goals last season.

Now, the question is whether or not he can take that next step up in competition and still be successful.
