Claude Puel heading to Sporting?

According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Claude Puel is set to make his way back into management after holding talks with Sporting Lisbon over their vacant managerial position. The former Leicester City and Southampton boss has been out of a job for a while now, and seems more than ready to step back into the mix of things with a club that still holds a lot of potential.

While Sporting aren’t exactly considered to be one of the superpowers of European football, they don’t really need to be. If Puel can begin the process of building them back up to where it is they want to be in the landscape of the Portuguese and European game, then the restoration of his reputation will come alongside that.

It isn’t going to be easy but he’s certainly got a decent platform – if he does actually wind up getting the job, that is.
